Chapter Six

When we reached Dix Park, I told the guys to wait in the car while I went over to talk to Anna and Tommy. I figured it would be easier if I warned them before a giant were-panther climbed out of my Mustang.

“What’s going on?” Anna asked, instantly defensive as I walked across the parking lot.

“Do you have Celia’s hairbrush?”

“Yes,” she answered, handing it to me from her purse. “Are you going to do your own tracking spell with it?”

“Sort of.” I turned and looked at the sky. The sun would set in about an hour and if we had any chance of disrupting the witches spell, we had to find the ritual location before that happened. So whatever fight was about to go down between the Declans and me, needed to start and end quickly.

“Cole, just spill it,” Tommy said, his hand on his hip. It wasn’t exactly threatening, but he was closer to the gun I knew he kept in a holster at his back.

“Bryce is going to scent track your sister with this.” I held up the hairbrush.

“Scent track?” Anna looked at me then at my car then back at me. “What do you mean?”

“He means,” Tommy said, his tone harsh. “That there really is a reason the Graysons don’t work together on the full moon anymore.”

“Got it in one, Tommy Boy,” I said. “How long have you suspected?”

“The rumors have been going around for a couple months, but when your boyfriend started to freak out about the evil in the house, it seemed likely.”

“We gonna have a problem?” I asked, widening my stance slightly.

“He housebroken?” Tommy retorted, nodding toward my car.

“As much as can be expected,” I answered with a smirk.

Tommy held out his hand, and we shook.

“Cole, I just want to save Celia and keep these bitches from sucking all the mojo from the wolf pack and becoming super witches, I don’t give a fuck what happens in your city. I trust you, and I trust Bryce. If either of you thought it would be dangerous—well, more dangerous than usual—he wouldn’t be here.”

“Thanks, man.” I looked at Anna. “You okay?”

“If Tommy says it’s fine, then I’m good. Just…please help my sister. I don’t want to lose her.”

“All I can promise is that we’ll do our best.” I turned and gripped her arm. “I can’t and won’t promise you more than that.”

She nodded, and I tried to give her a comforting smile, though it felt more like a grimace. Before anyone could change their minds, I whistled and a few moments later, Sebastian and my panther brother walked up to us.

“You’re fucking huge!” Anna exclaimed, staring at my brother with wide eyes.

“Don’t,” I begged her. “He doesn’t need any more ego stroking.”

Bryce bumped my leg, and I had to grab Tommy’s car to keep from falling to the ground.

“What’s the plan?” Tommy asked, doing his best to hide the laugh I heard in his tone.
